The 162d Wing Top 3 Council, in partnership with the 162nd Guardian ANGels, recently awarded five $1,000 scholarships to outstanding enlisted Airmen in support of their continued education.
The 162nd Air Guardians and the 162nd Guardian ANGels Education Fund operate as two separate but aligned entities. The 162nd Air Guardians function as a socially beneficial supporting organization, while the 162nd Guardian ANGels Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated exclusively to education and scholarships. Both organizations are fully volunteer-driven, and 100% of funds received are used to support their respective missions.
This year’s scholarships were awarded to Airmen with less than five years of military service, reinforcing a shared commitment to early professional development and long-term success. A joint review panel, comprising one 162nd Air Guardian representative and four Top 3 Council members, evaluated numerous applications and selected five individuals who met the established criteria.
The scholarships were presented on March 21, 2026, during a gathering at the Wing Auditorium.
Scholarship recipients:
- TSgt Renzo Miguel Lopez Celedon – 162 MXG
- SSgt Celeste Lazarraga – 162 HQ

The Top 3 Council continues to focus on leadership development, mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement across the 162d Wing. Through initiatives such as professional development events, mentoring opportunities, and community service, the council remains committed to strengthening the enlisted force and supporting Airmen and their families.
This scholarship program reflects the strong partnership between the Top 3 Council and the 162nd Air Guardians, and their shared dedication to investing in the future of the 162d Wing.
